What is a pre-order?

Pre-ordering enables you to reserve a product before it is available. When you pre-order a product from the Nikon Store, it is reserved so that you are among the first to receive the product from the date on which it becomes available for purchase.

Can all products be pre-ordered?

No, only selected products can be pre-ordered. On any given product page, a button and product status text will make clear whether the item is available for pre-order. Once a product available for pre-order has passed its sales start date, pre-ordering the product will no longer be possible.

Can I include in-stock products with pre-ordered products in the same order?

No, in-stock products and pre-order products must be included in separate orders. Different pre-ordered products must also be reserved separately, rather than being included in one order.

This is because different pre-ordered products can have different sales start dates, and including non-pre-ordered products in the same order as pre-ordered products may delay shipment of the entire order. You must therefore include different types of pre-ordered items and already-available products in single, separate orders.

How will I know that you have received my pre-order?

Once your order is finalised, we will send you an email confirming receipt. This confirmation email will state the product that you have reserved, and we will deliver it to you as soon as it becomes available in our stock. If you have pre-ordered/reserved a product but have not received a confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact our customer service team.

Can I amend my order?

If you need to amend your shipping details, please contact our customer service team. They will be able to assist you if the order has not yet shipped. Please note, however, that we are unable to amend your payment details.

Will I be notified when my order is ready?

Yes, you will receive an email with the already charged invoice in an attachment, together with the UPS tracking number. Orders are normally shipped just before the sales start date, so you can expect to receive your product shortly after the actual sales start date.

Can all payment methods be used to pre-order?

Products can only be pre-ordered from the Nikon Store with a credit card payment. Visa, American Express and MasterCard are all accepted.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged only when the order is ready to be shipped.

What happens if authorisation fails when the credit card is charged?

If for any reason, your credit card cannot be charged at the time your order is ready to be shipped – such as if the card has expired by the time we attempt to settle the funds – your order will be cancelled. If your card expires prior to the date on which the order is due to be shipped, please contact our team to cancel your original order and make a new reservation.

How can I cancel my order?

A customer who has reserved (‘pre-ordered’) a product from the Nikon Store can contact customer support at any time to cancel the order, provided it has not shipped.

Once the order has been shipped, it will no longer be possible to cancel. However, you do have the option to return unwanted items within 14 days after delivery; this service is free of charge. Please contact our customer service team to find out how to return your items.
